Can anyone explain the sport cricket to me?
I am a big baseball fall but know nothing about cricket. A good friend of mine is a huge cricket fan, and I would like to know something about this sport. Is it like baseball?

- not at all like base ball, two teams of 11 players, each team bats and bowls for two innings, a typical match will run for 5 days, these games are usually known as Test matches and are played between countries, the best Cricket team in the world is Australia,followed by India, South Africa, Pakistan, England, West Indies, New Zealand.
The aim of the game is to bowl the opposing team out for as few runs as possible and than score as many runs as possible when you bat, there are specialist batsman and bowlers. It is a complicated game to explain as there are many rules and subtleties, you may like to "Google" cricket where there are some very good sites.
- Cricket is game played by 22 people and watched millions idiots. I know i am also one in that million.
The game is similar to baseball one team will have the ball and bowl and other team will have the bat to hit that ball.
The result is fixed by bookies. All most all the 22player will act on the field similar to WWF. Generally with their acting experience in the ground they make a good career in modeling, advertisements and some have done some movies also.
So both the teams work hard make close finish so that no one can find it is fixed.
Some matches go without fixing also. But match between india pakistan is almost always fixed.

Two players comes out with a bat(not the flying one) in their hands.
Other 11 players with nothing enters.
2 white collored man appears from nowhere.
1 of the 11 players suddenly starts running like a mad and throws the ball on the batsman.It's an attempted murder case.But no one bothers.
The man with the bat tries to defend himself.Sometimes the ball hits the man on his leg.The other 11 players starts shouting.
I don't know 1 thing.The ball had hitted the leg of the man then why the others are shouting by pain.
I told U abt. the white-collored ppl.They just stand there and them shouting.Sometimes they starts sweeping the air with their arms,when the ball crosses the ropes.Sometimes he shows his index finger pointing towards heaven as if he is saying to the man having the bat that his time is up.You have to go there.So just go and rest in the pavilion.But as soon as he goes the other man comes inside.If he hits the ball the others run behind the ball as if they were hungry since 1 month and it is something to eat.
The man with the bat hits the ball and runs towards the man who've thrown the ball on him.He runs there to hit him back with the bat.But suddenly he thinks that if he hits the man then the others will not leave him.So he just stops there.

in base ball, balled is thrown(pitched) where as in cricket, ball is bowled...
the ball does not pitch on earth when thrown, but in cricket the pitch plays a very important role......thats why you have many variations like spin and of the pitch movements.
in baseball runs are scored only in front where as in cricket , the runs are scored allroung theground.
