Which is the number 1 team in world cricket- India or South Africa? Can Aussies regain the top spot?

India is currently called the best cricket team in the world by people like Tony Greig, Andrew Flintof, Zaheer Abbass, Wasim Akram, Chris Cairns, KP. But South Africa is not that far behind in test cricket, though i admit they are inferior to India in odis. And my last q, do you think the former best team Australia can regain the spot in the future?

Public Comments

  1. Australia is the number 1 ranked test team.

  2. India the best and australia is always second.

  3. South Africa are currently better at the moment. That is a mild statement. I will be able to have a better indication after this series.

Currently, India are the best team at the moment, but now lets see if they can prove themselves out side of India.

  4. LMAO at the way you ask the questions mate.Do you think people are going to answer your questions seriously

  5. Await outcome of SA v Aus series and then we'll see. If SA beat Oz well then they might be No. 2 to India. If not it will be India; Australia; South Africa; England in that order. There is no way that SA is a better side than India though...

  6. see first India is at 2nd rank and south Africa is at 4th rank but someone beats the Aussies also then will surely come back to fight and so the Indians or the number1 team should do. this is fight which never endsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

  7. At present India/Sa are going neck to neck. Whoever become No. 1 will conduct better than Aussies, who have the indelible image of ROWDIES or BAD BOYS

In so far as, OZ regaining the No. 1 spot, it is doubtful. They have severe structural cracks in the team. No gelling. I have not seen any captain criticising the team mate for non cricketing reasons in the middle of a season (Symmonds not a role model....). There is groupism and therefore, these are pulling in different directions. They concentrate and court more controversies than playing cricket, like Hayden's 2 comments on India,

They are living in the past than seeing the writings on the wall.

  8. aus. still the best

  9. India is World No.1 without any team even coming closer to it.

I'm not saying that SA is not a good team. It's a superb team, but the 2nd Best.

    Aussies...hmmm

I think they would have trouble after Ponting, Hayden or Symonds retire. They have lost Warne and McGrath and have started losing many matches. So, Aussies-a good team, but be careful and work hard.

  10. If you would care to look at the rankings, Australia is number one. Maybe if India had been able to beat Sri Lanka...

  11. At the moment, Team India is at it's peak!!! Team is the BEST at the moment and to get the No.1 tag officially they gotta keep up their good work! They 've win each and every match that comes their way.....And i believe they can do it! The present Indian Team is capable of achieving anything! So...India just needs to keep up their winning streak in order to be no.1!

  12. No, India are too inconsistant outside of the sub-continent. South Africa are on the up and Australia are on the way down. Whether they have crossed yet will be found out during the eminent back to back series.

  13. south africa

  14. I could say Outer Whoop Whoop is #1, but that doesn't make it so. Australia is still #1 & you saying otherwise can't change that. Remember that England could well have beaten India in their recent match had they managed to hang on, and what does that tell you? England have trouble winning an argument these days.So don't get too uppity about your teams 'greatness' till they actually are #1. Only schoolkids engage in such wishful thinking.

  15. Technically Australia are still the number one team in the world in both [Test and ODI] ] forms of the game, just because they lose a series to India doesn't put India ahead of them. India also need to perform like how they are doing now abroad to be treated as the Number One team.

But I rate SA highly and beleive if they put on a strong performance when playing Aus in Australia and then back in South Africa they should have the top spot.

  16. In my opinion, Australia are still the No. 1 team in world cricket.
